My name is Rob Thomas and I have designed several thousand basements and overseen the construction of nearly 1,000 basement renovation projects during the past 19 years.  I'm no longer in the industry, but I design for charity. 

My goals are threefolds

1) to help a very worthy cause (the Yellow Brick House)

2) to help people achieve great basements at cost (yes, at cost)

3) to provide work for the incredible tradesmen that worked with me for nearly two decades

What's the catch? There is no catch. This is my way of giving back!

I provide a plan that maximizes the potential of your basement, based upon your budget. I also refer you to oustanding tradesmen that I worked with for many years.

What does it cost?

I charge $125 per hour for my service.  Customers donate the fee to Yellow Brick House (other than covering my gas and advertising cost) and receive a full tax deductible receipt for the cheque to YBH. The fee is generally ranges between $500 and $750. Clients typically save $10,000 to $15,000 when compared to hiring a basement finishing company or a general contractor.  The savings are achieved from avoiding selling fees, profits, and overhead. You simply pay the wages of highly skilled and experienced tradesmen. The price and quality are unbeatable! 

What do you get?

* a floor plan drawn to scale that includes furniture and fixture layouts, an electrical layout, and a reflective ceiling layout

* detailed instruction during my visit so that you understand why and how things should be done

* referrals to great trades and suppliers
